YMCA New Jersey Youth and Government

The Junior Legislators Program is designed to allow seventh (7^th) or eight (8^th) graders understand the legislative process and structure.  Delegates will simulate various aspects of the conference and experience the same debate and problem solving situations as their high school counterparts.

Junior Legislators will partake in the following aspects of the Conference:

• Writing and presenting a Bill
• Chamber / Committee Debate Sessions
• Lobbyists
• Judicial Program (Courts)

Important Dates:

• March 13th, 2011  --Pre-Legislative Session
  assignment will be given by Program Staff
  
• April 1st, 2011  --Jr. Legislator Assignment Due
  

Program Staff will be in touch directly with Jr. Legislators to deliver more specific information.
